Looking at a kohlers load shed module the contactors only go to 40 amps I need to drop a 50 amp hot tub is there any reason I cant just change the contactor out ?

Just run the bigger contactor's coil from the 40A contacts currently installed in the ATS.
Warranty intact, no added liability.
