HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police and family members are looking for Billy Barnes, who has been missing for a week.

Barnes hasn’t been seen since Wednesday, September 5 at 10 p.m. His family says he was last seen walking near Winchester Road and Deerfield Road.

Barnes was wearing a blue/grey shirt, blue jeans, brown shoes and a baseball cap. He has long, gray hair that he wears in a ponytail.

If you have any information, please call Huntsville Police at (256) 722-7100.

I would like to ask that this thread be closed.

But I want to add a side note.


This is a guy that I not only worked with, we went to school together. I know his family intimately and have for 30 plus years.


Everyone tells me that he exhibited no indication that this was a possibility. All I can ask is that you pay close attention to those around you, and we might avert another situation such as this.
