FPE on the news

Am I wrong or did FPE lose their UL rating back in the early 80's?
I thought most of the existing FPE replacements would have been done by now.
Some of the houses in that video don't look that old. Were there FPE installed in them after they were banned?

What am I missing?

we usually give the customer web sites to visit they usually call the next day for the change out

Same here. I don't comdemn them or recommend them, just simply tell them to check out some of the information that is out there and make their own decision, most usually decide they don't want to take any chances and have it replaced.

You are missing a lot.

FPE lost the UL listing on a very specific number of breaker sizes, for a relatively short time frame. They never had a UL issue with their panels or the general 15 & 20 1P breakers, nor their general industrial products.

Except for a few localities, I am not aware of there ever being a 'ban' on FPE.

That was my understanding.
