I had my Droid Razer set up as a hot spot so I could use my laptop with it. It had worked occasionally but now, although the two connect, I have no internet connection. Verizon tells me it is my laptop, I believe they are correct, but I do not know what settings to change and they did not know. Any of you have an idea? Windows 7. Dell 32 bit.

Are you you using Verizons official Hotspot app or something else? If something else which one? Have you run ipconfig from the command prompt to confirm your connected? If you are actually connected you can try ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew. Can you ping the hotspot? Just a few thoughts based on the limited information.

You may not be really connected.
If you are unable to poll other wifi networks when this happens then your PC has an issue with that particular connection. Sometimes letting the computer go through the motions on its own it seems to cure itself.

I am using the official Verizon hotspot & also have another app but they both result in no internet connection. The "Bars" at the bottom right of my screen show full access to the Hotspot with a yellow symbol indicating a problem. Both the Dell and my Droid indicate they are connected. I tried the release/renew with no change. They few times it did connect in the past it did so in a reasonable time.

I don't mean this to sound glib in any manner, and it still amazes me that I can even log onto this site beause I am not savvy with computers, but have you tried just powering down both devices and restarting? This has often cured problems for me.

If you are getting internet with the hotspot and your PC is getting the yellow question mark I wouild bet that the PC's WiFi adapter is currupt. I would go into Network properties and uninstall the Adapter , then reboot and the adapter should re install. make sure the adapter is turned on and you should be good to go.
