Strapping MC to EMT

Am I correct in reading 300.11 (B) that you cannot zip tie mc cable to emt? I have been telling people this in the shop but none believe it.

I think that the only thing that you can attach to EMT would be a lv cable serving the same motor that the emt conductors are serving. Such as a furnace. So............no, you can't.

Thanks, that's what I interpreted it to say. It's so overlooked by today's inspectors that everyone does it. One inspector said something to one of our crews during an inspection so all of a sudden it was "oh I need to see where it says you can't".

Very common violation. I admit I have done it.
