Hello everybody. I'm parraleling 350mcm al for a total of 6 conductors. I'm fusing them with a
450 amp OCpd. 3 phase only. No neutral. All going in a single 3.5" PVC sch 40. My question is do I have to parallel the ground? Can I run a single ground? All answers are greatly appreciated.

There is no requirement to install parallel EGCs when all of the phase conductors are in a single raceway.

You can run a single but make sure the EGC can carry the largest current seen. NEC 2011 690.45 comes to mind as well as Table 250.122.

Also be sure to read NEC 2011 [250.122] for full details on sizing of ECG. 250.122(C) Multiple circuits says: "where a single equipment grounding conductor is run with multiple circuits in the same raceway, cable tray, it shall be sized for the largest over current device protecting conductors in the raceway, cable or cable tray. ... shall meet the minimum requirements of 392.10(B)(1)(c)."

Hopefully that helps?

The egc is size to the ocpd not the conductors in the raceway. In your case a #2 copper or 1/0 aluminum will have to be run in the pvc.

Thanks

Thanks to all the replies. Definately helped out. Better to ask and do it right rather than doing it wrong and possibly hurting someone.
