A while back I rememberhaving to put life safety electrical distribution equipment in a 2 hour ratedroom. Can someone please direct me to the code section that calls for this? I'mthinking it's in a NFPA section, but I can't remember which one, and I don'thave access to the volumes.

Thx

If Fire Alarm falls under "life-safety" in the original post, then there are rules similar to 700.10 in NFPA 72, the National Fire Alarm Code. Voice evacuation wiring has to be able to pass through one evacuation zone to get to another zone with survivability - usually by running in a 2-hour rated chase.

If IBC is your building code, there are more rules for Fire Alarms in section 907.
