Welcome to the forum.:)

With questions such as this we ask that you attempt to do the calculation yourself first and then we will help you.

IF you calculated this with the req'd signage ckt and 100% simultaneous usage of all equipment and outlets....you only come up with 437.74A...[calc'd at sgl phase, 240V].

Calc'd with 80% of all equip & receps/signage you come up with 350A....I suspect a 300A svc would be more than adequate for this application. [at 300A would cover 70% of all equipment being used simultaneously].

What req'd signage ckt.?

And where are you getting the 80% and 70% factors? There is no such thing in Article 220.

Thanks. I did. I came up with a 600A service load. I was just wanting to double check my calculations.
When raider said you attempt to do the calculation yourself first, he meant you must show it, not just tell us what your result is. Please see Examples in Annex D...

Welcome to the forum.

Signage ckt - 600.5(A) - Required Branch Circuit - 'Each commercial bldg...shall be provided with at least one outlet....supplied by a 20A ckt.

RE: Where are you getting the 80% & 70%?..........I made it up!:).....I said I came up with 438A at 100%....and with a 'JMO' I said I figured you could get by with a 300A svc [seems realistic to me...but of course, ck. the AHJ and see what he'll buy off on].

That's not per NEC script, nor would I recommend your method... especially on a Code forum :happysad:

Well...I guess you know where I think you can put your 'recommendation'......for the last 10 yrs. everyone else has been permitted to give their opinion without code backup or compliance:thumbsdown:.

I gave the calcs for 100% utilization; nowhere in 220 do they require 100% demand factor for multiple appliances. I also stated those 70/80% percent factors were my opinion and I'll stick with those numbers and keep on, like everyone else in this forum, giving an opinion when I so state that my comment is an opinion.

Well, I respect that you have an opinion... but I don't care what you think...!!!

Have a Merry Christmas...
