Instantaneous Water Heaters

This reminds me of the time I had to replace a heating element in a water heater. The guy at the plumbing supply counter wanted to sell me an energy-saving heater element. It said "energy saving" right on the label, because it was about 90% of the standard wattage. He got mad when I laughed at it.

I couldn't convince him that the only way to use less energy was to set the stat lower. He thought I was nuts because I believed that less watts wasn't less energy.

The marketing guys can put a spin on the simplest things without actually lying. But they are intentionally creating a false impression from which they can gain.

Like the electric space heaters in a nice oak surround that are guaranteed to reduce your heating costs by up to 90%?
