Handle ties for 3 wire circuits

Just had a rough inspection on a small commercial job. Inspector stated a new code was introduced requiring handelties on all breakers where it is a 3 wire circuit. Has anyone heard of this I still have the 2008 code book and he didnt have his book either.

Yep all circuits on a multiwire branch circuit must be able to be disconnected simultaneously. 210.4

Either that or two pole breakers.
