Why we need to connect at least one of the mechanical equipment to lightning mesh ?, the supplier said to make equipotential.

First what is a lightning mesh and second what is the question?
The lightning network contains the mesh (grid) and the down conductors...The down conductor has to be connected direct to underground pit...and no connection has to be there between the grid and the indoor equipments...but as per the supplier recommendation we need to connect the grid to one of the mechanical equipments (at least)& my question is why we do need to do that?

I'm no expert...

I believe; the apron of concrete that the generator sits on is what your referencing, if they only used mesh of 1/8" 6 in/sq then you don't have to make a physical connection, if 1/2' rebar that's different. The mass of concrete is a better connection to ground then not but that's not the point.

But - I don't know where to consider it physically separated from the building.

If the generator is very close and under the building shadow and under the aerial of a lighting rod if then yes extend the grid but if it physically separated then no, don't. One still have to follow the requirements of grounding a generator.

Hopefully you used PVC and underground. The ground should be in with all circuits and a physical connection is bonded on the machine. You should have tied in all things together out there at the ATS any was.
