Are there any requirements for GFCI protection for a ceiling mounted ceiling fan on a covered porch? This installation will not be near any pool or spa location and I cannot find any requirement that would require it in 210.8 since it is not classified as a receptacle. Have not seen manufacturers requirements yet, just looking for thoughts or code requirements either way. I know that most bath fans do not require GFCI unless listed by manufacturer and I am guessing the same will apply to this installation. Thank you.

No requirement for ceiling fans to be gfci on a porch and I don't see the need for it either. A bath fan over a shower area needs gfci but most bath fans don't req. gfci if they are not over a shower. I have never seen a fan over a shower that did not req. gfci.

Golly if they start putting gfci on fans then lights etc would be next-- no need IMO.
