Can anyone please help me understand what determines the Form of a conduit body? For example, what makes an aluminum conduit body a Form 7? What makes a malleable iron conduit body a Form 35?

I appreciate any help you can provide!

Very nice link. I didn't realize there were that many options in conduit fittings.

I also like all the size tables. You don't know how hard it is for an engineer to find sizes for conduit fittings - we can't just pull one out of the truck and put a tape to it.

The only thing better would be if they listed wire capacity on those tables. They always seem to just say "size capacities are listed on the fitting". Again, engineers can't just pull one out of the truck and read what it says, but sometimes we need to know if that 4" mogul LB will hold the 6 - 600KCM wires we specified.
