I do some work for a company that has corporate offices in another State. Corporate called the other day about an ongoing project, then they asked about the local manager and what I thought. I told them he need more time for administrative work. I was jumped on pretty quickly that there is "no administrative work" at this rural location. Ok.

How many people work out of, or for, this "rural location"?

they asked for your opinion, and then
criticized you when you gave it.

this means they didn't really want to
know what you thought, they wanted you
to say something that supported their
agenda, and you didn't say it.

you are a bad man. :weeping:

you told them he isn't given enough time
to do his job properly. the fact that
they are asking you in the first place probably
means they are dissatisfied with his performance,
and probably got told the same thing from him
that you told them, that he isn't being given the
resources to perform his job successfully.

so, the handwriting on the wall is that they replace
him within 90 days with someone else who they won't
give enough time or resources to do the job, either.

it's so hard to get good people these days, don't you think?

Exactly. Open communication becomes cannon fodder for corporate hacks.

There will be no closure or satisfaction in this endeavor. The exercise will be to not get ripped off so do not become personally vested. The leverage will be that they need someone else to invest and perform for them to reach a climax. Mess with that and you have their undivided attention, if you want it. I think the calls will come when a sizable draw or at the end of a quarter or fiscal period.
It is kind of like being a straight man for a comedian, you are not being helpful if you do not respond in a predictable way.
