When installing wall boxes for lighting sconce fixtures what distance must be maintained from the wall or cabinet to the fixture, thanks...

Hopefully far enough off of the jamb edge to consider for framing and possible wood flashing.
The design cram the light in dead corner, or poor taste in light equipment that in no case can you make the light look good, but you can get it burning?
If vertical, higher than you think ? 6'-8", ~ 6'-6", and out of the swing of the cabinets,
If it's under cabinet, get a look at the exact light!
