Disconnect over transformer?

I am trying to solve a wrong voltage issue on a CHP unit (should be 208V, arrived 480V). I have limited space to put a step down transformer. Clear space requires that I have 36" in front of the secondary (208V) disconnect. Is there any reason I cannot mount the disconnect above the transformer, as long as the front of the disconnect is flush with the front of the transformer? I would show strut uprights straddling the transformer, and then the disconnect mounts to the strut.

Thanks.

NO reason you can't do so as far as I know as long as you meet 110.26

I've seen this a few times where space was limited:

110.26(A)(3) would allow the transformer to extend no more than 6 inches in front of the disconnect, so it doesn't have to absolutely be flush.

Usually you would make it flush, but this would come in handy for say a small transformer that is a wall mount type that is only up to 6 inches deeper than the disconnect, and is used a lot for panels, disconnects, controllers and aux gutters.
