doing GRC instead of EMT?

i've got commercial bathrooms, and the spec, believe it or not,
is for GRC for anything not in concrete or masonry walls.

yup, cut and thread. before i totally shoot myself in the foot here,
i'm thinking 3X the labor over EMT. does that sound high or low?
talking 1/2" and 3/4" above a hard lid, new construction.

everything in the slab and block walls will be PVC. everything
else will be cut and thread. so the GRC will mostly be switchlegs
for the lights, and feeds for the exhaust fans, etc.

any thoughts? thanks.....

Might save a lot of time and use compression GRC fittings, the cost of them more than makes up for the labor savings in threading , unions, etc

thank you.... i spoke at length with the GC today, as he's
done one of these units already, and i asked about how
long it took the sparky..... we agreed on what a fair number
is on labor, and i've got a little spreadsheet built, and it's
fitting together pretty well. the number we agreed on for
labor hours is about double what it would seem to take.
it's nice when you can have someone walk across the minefield
ahead of you.

you have to baby sit block walls as they are built.... it takes
a while....

Leo seems right, 9.5 but I'll add fluff because it will be there 2 to 2.5 days.

Two course a day is standard, your own work and inspection with be pre and post construction will happen.

Install, pull -and/or, terminate.

There's true dead time w/ brickie's.

well, the bids went in, haven't heard back how that went, it's a prevailing wage job, so i'm pretty
sure my numbers are good.... it'll be a good lick of work if i get it... cool part is they will be doing
three at a time, so i can just make laps between them when they are stacking walls, and it won't
be standing there watching nothing happen.....

The un-cool part is they are all on the exact same schedule so you will need two clones.:p

i'm good with that... i have an ice cream clone. i'll eat the clone, and just go faster.

i'm actually looking at doing about $550k by next october, solo... i'm not going to actually make any money
on any of this, i'm going to make money selling tickets to the circus event of watching me try.

iwire was awarded the popcorn concession, and we are going to split the profits. i expect it to be in the tens of dollars.

Yumm. Popcorn. Caramel.

Iwire can also make some popcorn strings for Christmas trees. Expand the business!

I'll be looking for it on TiVo as I can't make the live taping.
