iT general flexible chordsother than Tinsel chords shall not be smaller than.? Table 400.4 in the notes states that, 27awg is for tinsel cords, 20awg is for elevators only. Thus, that leavs 18awg.Is this correct? Also in the same article under OCP it states that OCPD is required if 18awg. Please explain.

You are asking an "in general" question" about flexible cord sizes which have moderately- to severely-restricted usage. First, note the statement of 400.2, then uses permitted and not permitted of 400.7 and 400.8 respectively. You'll likely get into further sizing restrictions upon consideration of other articles which apply to a particular situation.
