Cable Pull Tension Calculation

My company is bidding on a design/build project that will involve a very long directional bore under an airport ?apron? (i.e., a parking area for aircraft). I am concerned about our ability to pull a conductor (750 MCM, 15kV) through an underground conduit (6?) that is as long (1000 feet) as the apron is wide. But I have never yet been involved in calculating cable pull tension. Is there an on-line calculator that anyone here has used, and that is simple enough for even an engineer to use? :huh:
 
The southwire spreadsheet is useful, but make sure you look at the tutorial.

The cable type is very important, the default in southwire spreadsheet looks like the Sim-pull cable which has a special jacket that makes it easier to pull. If you use something else you'll need some cable data.

BTW: you will need to be specific on your cable type, so if it's EPC you are going to need to know what is being bought, or tell them.

If you go from MH to MH with 1000' (horizontal pull) in between you probably won't have an issue. If you use a 90 bend on either end that complicates things and tension still probably won't be an issue, but watch sidewall pressure out of the 90.
