In a nutshell, an inspector need be wise rather than merely smart.

Out of curiosity; what is the inspection process in India; i.e. is it like US with building dept issuing permits, and then regular inspections? Who is the AHJ? Also, do you follow IEC or US design standards?

Thanks in advance.

Making up our own rules is crucial. I can't believe it's not in there!! ;)

Seriously, good stuff.
I would add under dependability or the ability to work with people, the trait of returning phone calls or emails promptly. An inspector must be readily accessible. (couldn't resist the pun)

Nor I!

I would think the guidelines apply for all types of inspectors -- FYI accessibility can be difficult at times and is directly associated with scheduling -- While EC's have a compliment of field workers/ office personel & owners, its easy to see how it can be difficult to contact a particular inspector with a ratio of 1000 to 1

While accessibility can't always be instant, a good inspector should return all calls and emails by the following morning. There is just no excuse to keep people hanging. I have known inspectors who wouldn't resond for days if at all.
