sort of a bolted fault short.... sort of.

I saw no mention of strut type, I would assume a guy would use stainless or fiberglass strut in a marina. I'd also wonder how long aluminum wire will last that close to water as well?

The real problem I see is running pvc on strut while allowing the pipe to expand by using the right straps as well as keeping it from breaking in between supports by people trying to balance on it with all their weight. Instead of strut I might lean towards some sort of stainless 2 hole strap either a little oversized or with a stainless washer underneath to reduce the grip and allow expansion. At least if someone stood on it, it wouldn't bow between supports.

I have no doubt that whatever Randy comes up with it'll be much better than before.

honest to god, i don't have the time to do it.
he's gonna have to get someone else. i don't
usually turn down much in the way of work.

i worked 14 hours on saturday, and 8 on sunday.

i hit the ground running today at 6:30 am, and didn't stop
till i hit the wall and went numb at 2:30. piped in a 2x2x3
quickset box, ran 100' of 3&4 inch before the slurry arrived,
and blew in lines and pulled 4,500' of mule tape before lunch.

came home, took a shower, considered going to a second job,
went to bed instead.

all my purchase orders have been converted to A/R's.... mostly,
except for the odd one or two. i just need to get thru the next six
weeks, and clear the job i've got running before any other bids
convert to P/O's.

and this thing needs to be done before i'd have any way of doing it.

truth is, if i were gonna do it, i'd run 2" schedule 80 under the dock,
with a nonmetallic support. nothing, including stainless, will hold
up to saltwater. hot galvanizing, if the coating is unbroken, is better
than stainless. cad plating lasts a year.

the aluminum 3/0 would have hypress lugs on it, and panduit
UL listed heat shrink that is rated for direct burial at 600 volts.
nothing exposed to air except the tinned lug.

alas, i don't have the time.
