Stem/Pendants Mounted Fixtures

I know most lighting vendors won't included the pendants to various unknwn factors. What do you usually make pendants from and how would you attach them? Conduit?? Thanks.

Rigid conduit & one of these hangers is one option. Crouse Hinds is the manufacturer. There are others

Are these fixtures hanging below a finished acoustical tile ceiling? Many modern pendants hung there use an adjustable aircraft cable system in stead of the old stem hung stuff.

my wholesale house has these with a box designed for the purpose.... imagine a cut in box with the removable sides, now
expand that to a 4sd, that has lips that the pendant cover can slide on top of.... you build everything on the ground,
and slide the cover onto the box, make it up, and put the side cover on.... pretty good idea, to be honest. fast.
