NYC Branch-Code Complaint?

Is it code comliant to run armored cable and 3/4" or 1" conduit above a hung ceiling just being supported by the pencil rod with this? No drop wire/ceiling wire or anything else? This is for NYC only.

We do this everyday, all day long in NYC. It's a standard installation technique. We use Caddy KX, and K8's through K-20's.

Typically no, even 12/4 MC (5 wire) cable is tight with a KX. Except for 12/2 cables I prefer K-8's.
