what is the concern on powering 3 phase motors. I am purchasing RO pump motors for various facilities and my vendor keeps on asking for the ac voltage requirements. There are some facilities that have 200 VAC motors installed and others have 208-230 units. I have measured various facilities incoming power and found that are sourced with 215 VAC 3 phase. The question is, Is there a problem powering 200 VAC 3phase motor with 215 VAC 3phase power source or vice versa?

You tell the vendor what the system nominal voltage is. I would expect that if you are measuring 215, that you really have a 208 volt system.

Different voltages in different countries, it depends on where it was made. I was taught most are +/- 10 % So a 230v motor will run on 207-253v which covers most ranges same with 460v. As for the 385v 200v and others most are 50hz and pumps and fans don?t always like to run and different frequencies.
