Vintage Luminares from Crouse Hinds

See picture - these are two Crouse Hinds bronze luminaires (OK fixtures back then) that were installed in a park from the 1950s.
The back box is bronze as is the front cover.
Has anyone ever seen fixtures like these? I'd like to get some history on them.

They appear to be patterned on old ships lanterns or hand lanterns in style.
FWIW.
Has the glass darkened with age or was that original I wonder?
