Yes. The E26 is the standard 120 Volt American base. The E27 is the European variant and is rated at 220 Volts. E26 is 26 mm and the E27 is 27 mm diameter. However, an E26 bulb can fit in E27 base and an E27 bulb can fit in E26 base without problem. The sockets / bulbs are interchangeable except for the voltage rating. Therefore, LED E26 bulbs that are universal line-voltage can be used in both E26 and E27 sockets.

:lol::) Thanks. I was expecting DIY answers on yahoo but I still should've checked:ashamed1: Just one question, what do the mean by the diameter is larger? I would imagine a larger diameter wouldnt fit... but it says it can?

If the clearance built into the design (and a fraction of the thread depth) is great enough, you can fit a nominal 27mm plug unto a 26mm hole
And the threads of a 26mm plug will be tight enough in a 27mm hole.

Will it fit ok or is there the risk of the socket becoming stuck? The way I picturing it E27 is a hair larger then E26, it will fit in an E26 socket, but just be more snug?
