The incredible, yet very expensive, Hudson Valley,
2008 NEC. Rewired whole house last summer, 1 story with basement. Installed hardwired, interconnected smokes and CO2's. Smoke in each bedroom, combo in 1st floor hallway and in basement. They're adding on a new attached breezeway (10' x 14') to a new attached 2 bay garage.

Last I knew it was 1 CO2/smoke combo per level and 1 smoke in each bedroom. Will any additional smokes/CO2's be required with these attached additions?

I'm going to say yes on that, but you should check the building code or ask the electrical inspector.

In NH we are required to install smoke detectors outside in the immediate vivinity of the bedrooms, in each bwdroom and on each floor. If the sq footage of the story exceeds 1250 sqft an additional smoke is required. CO detectors do not have to be interconnected and only have to be installed if an attached garage or fuel burning appliances are present.
 
I'd put an interconnected heat detector in the attached garage. Required where I work in Massachusetts. I think it's an NFPA 72 requirement, but might be a MA code.

From the `12 IRC, Section R314.3 - Location:
Smoke alarms shall be installed in the following locations:
1. In each sleeping room.
2. Outside each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms.
3. On each additional story of the dwelling, including basements and habitable
attics but not including crawl spaces and uninhabitable attics............In dwellings
or dwelling units with split levels and without an intervening door between the
adjacent levels, a smoke alarm installed on the upper level shall suffice for the
adjacent lower level provided that the lower level is less than one full story
below the upper level."
