I have an apartment house here and the owner has three apartments

He is using one for renting out to air BNB customers

Requirements are as

follows:

Entry gate
provide electric door strike
With keypad entry
Combination code is to be easily changed for "hotel" guests


Match gate code system with a levered entry lock for the rental unit
The code should be easily changed and able to match the gate code

System should be robust and reliable
And "easy to install"????

I'm going to have to run some wiring for a valcom type intercom system anyway

My main need at this time is for direction to specify keypads / entry locks that are programmable and reliable.

have you considered a key card system that hotels use instead of a keypad?

most alarm companies can put in some kind of key pad or key card system. don't be reinventing the wheel if you don't have to.
 
yeah they wanted internet control: expire guest codes remotely.
i found a good way to get everything but that with old aiphone and a die grinder
the internet stuff works for everything but the keypad.
gave them some limited options

dont want to be reinventing the wheel... I was there when they invented it the first time!:D

I was going to say it must be a California thing then looked it up. I was right.
