Is there a problem with installing a LED bulb in a recessed fixture over a shower with a shower trim?

As long as the fixture is rated for the lamp size you will be fine. The trim is the important issue for the moisture issue not the bulb.

Many LED trims are rated for damp locations (unless the shower is situated as such that the water would splash all over the ceiling which would make it a wet location) and cost as much as a regular shower trim and LED bulb.

I believe Sylvania's 6" LED complete trim is wet location rated unlike some of the other manufacturers. Just had this issue recently with a walk in shower a couple weeks ago.

Many LED lamps are not to be used in totally enclosed fixtures. Stated on the box or packaging.

Shower trim complete with LED are available though.

I will add to that the primary reason is the lamp will have reduced life if the luminaire it is installed in can not dissipate enough heat to keep critical components of the lamp below certain temperature.
