J-boxes above hung ceiling

Are splices allowed above the hung ceiling for power, low voltage, fire alarm, etc. without a j-box or does each splice require a j-box?

Class 2/3 circuit allow open splices - see 300.15

Thank you for this location. I checked 300.15 but I don't see any mention of class 2/3 circuits not requiring j-boxes.

725.3 Other Articles
Circuits and equipment shall comply with the articles or sections listed in 725.3(A) through (L). Only those sections of Article 300 referenced in this article shall apply to Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 circuits.

Kinda a back door approach -- Class 1 wiring methods refer to article 300 whole there is no mention for class 2/3 circuits. Code does not require article 300 to be applicable for s for class 2/3 . no j box required.
