Ok helping out with a temp power design. They give all the loads with amps and voltage With the quantity of each such as welding hook ups, pumps, hoists etc.

There are about 100 individual loads listed. It is a 30 story building. I Believe a main switchboard is needed than lighting and appliance panelboards on every floor. Maybe a few distribution boards to feed the panelboards or should they come right from the main switchboard. Transformers will also be needed. Where would disconnects be required?

How would one start to approach sizing the main switchboard and the sub panels? Get the total connected load or total calculated load? I imagine that would be for the main switchboard as everything will be feed from there. The panelboards would be sized according to what loads its feeding on that floor. Thanks a lot!!!

You are going to try to design the temp power for a 30 story building without any experience?

In my opinion you will be many tens of thousands of dollars ahead if you hire someone to design it for you.

Your "Temporary" Power Design is more detailed than some "Permanent" power installations. Sounds like more than temp lights and receptacles. What is the need for this type of temp service? What is the duration going to be? What type of loads?

You might want to contact an engineering firm. A lot of our large jobs have the temp. power designed in when you start factoring in different loads, logistics and......30 story buildings.

No im not at all.. I'm working with a pm and engineer. I wanted to have some insight/suggestions/ knowledge.

To provide construction lighting, temp power to other trades, hoists etc.

duration will be about 1-1/2 years( why do you ask?)
loads are motors, lighting and general power.
