We perform inspections on existing and older facilities and find where the equipment bonding conductor is undersized by one size. Did the code change at some point and increase the wire size on grounding and bonding? If so when?

What equipment bonding conductor are you asking about? There is not just 1. All of them are sized according to table 250.122.

The system or main bonding jumper is a different animal.
