L5-30R and L6-30R

Hello;

I am designing a building and I have the requirements in the subject title. I am confused and need your help! The L5-30R is 120v, 30A. So this needs 1-phase 30A breaker in the panel. The L6-30R needs a 30A 2-pole breaker in the panel correct? Thanks!

You have it correct. The L5 is 120V and the L6 is 240V so they need single pole breaker and a dp breaker respectively

Not stupid at all--- yes that is what the 30 means in the Nema number
