Has anyone actually used a recording meter for 30 days to determine the existing demand?
If so what equipment did you use?

I have arranged this many times, but not done the actual measurements myself. There were a variety of meter types used by the electricians who installed the equipment and conducted the tests. Sorry I can't help more than that.

If its a commercial account, usually you can get detailed demand data from the utility.

Churches around here don't have demand meters (for example). I have used the utility demand several times (for other buildings).

I have this done all the time. Not only for services but feeders too.
