Does NEC section 210.12 apply to sleeping rooms of a nursing home?

210.12(A) refers to Dwelling Units......a sleeping room in a nursing home would not be a dwelling unit.....Now knowing nothing about the actual "nursing home" layout and so on I will leave it at that.

The purveyors of exalted afci technology have already marketed a commercial afci variation.

210.12(A) doesn't apply unless you have a dwelling unit - typical nursing home you don't have dwelling units.
However 2014 NEC added 210.12(C) titled Dormitory Units. Read carefully and maybe even ask AHJ if they consider this to be a qualifying dormitory unit. NEC doesn't define what a dormitory unit is AFAIK.

How so ? The words "Test" & "Reset" are both imprinted to be read in either orientation. In a horizontal installation which direction would you suggest ? This topic has NO resolution.

I was hoping that the AFCI was good for something but as they are they are good for nothing .
