Hello,

I have a question regarding the correct wire size and overcurrent protection to use for a Marathon 7230HD Baler.
The baler hasn't arrived yet so I cannot verify the data plate. However I was able to find the product specs from their website.
The available power is 208v 3ph.

The Marathon 7230 has a 10hp motor.
I was able to find this information from Marathons website. http://www.marathonequipment.com/faq/what-fuses-and-circuit-breakers-do-i-need-my-compactor

For a 10HP motor using 208 3ph:
Full Load Amps = 27.5.
Dual Element Fuse Max Size = 50
Circuit Breaker Max Size = 80
Service Disconnect AMP = 60

With that information, what size should my breaker, fused disconnect and and wire be?

Can I get by with a 60A breaker, 60A disconnect and 6 AWG THHN? What size fuses?
The baler will be located a few feet from the panel.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Solie

Welcome!

Your link doesn't match the numbers that you present & question ?

Since this is a compactor you might consider cycling of the unit ? !

As said (in the good book) the other day here, the manufacturer is required to
determine the equipment spec's for the name plate data. Just use that.

The other electrical considerations for distance, environment, arrangement
would be of more concern for me! :)
