In general, yes... and we know that. We also cover topics related to the electrical industry. So is there a point to your post?

NOTE: I believe the original poster could have chose a better sub forum to place the thread, but it is what it is... until it changes... but even then it is what it is. :D

My reaction to the question was:

Water vapor,
any material that absorbs microwave energy,
water,
a conductive material,
an appropriate antenna and receiver (could be as simple as a diode and antenna),
or anything that is sensitive to or absorbs microwave energy.

If the question was "what is a microwave motion sensor", then the answer might be a source of microwave energy that also has a receiver to detect received microwave energy (radar) that is reflected from a sensed object, logic to interpret whether the reflected signal is a desired object for detection, and that motion occurs.
