Customer has 62 solenoid valves. Euro style with connector intended to be wired up with cord.

Incidentally, I noticed that in the 2011 code the attachment plug paragraph has had something added to it.

400.7 (B) Attachment Plugs. Where used as permitted in
400.7(A)(3), (A)(6), and (A)(8), each flexible cord shall
be equipped with an attachment plug and shall be energized
from a receptacle outlet or cord connector body.

It seems to me a connector cord body is what most of us call a cord grip so it appears like if you are allowed to wire using cord you can either use a cord grip or a plug in receptacle, if you are invoking 3, 6, or 8. That seems like a significant change for the better, especially given how many people wire them that way regardless of what the code may have said previously.

I also noticed that the code added subparagraph 11 in the 2014 edition.
(11) Between an existing receptacle outlet and an inlet,
where the inlet provides power to an additional single
receptacle outlet. The wiring interconnecting the inlet
to the single receptacle outlet shall be a Chapter 3
wiring method. The inlet, receptacle outlet, and Chapter
3 wiring method, including the flexible cord and
fittings, shall be a listed assembly specific for this
application.
What are they trying to get at with this? This sounds like a weird description of an extension cord to me.

In this case, a cord connector body is, IMO a female connector

The second part (11) pertains to TV boxes where you back feed a male receptacle to power a tv at the other end.
