Hi All, what is required to install a new light fixture with 90*C wires to an existing circuit where the wiring is all 60*C?

Many new fixtures are marked with some wording that requires the supply conductors to rated for at least 90° C, if the existing box contains old 60° C conductors like type TW then technically the fixture cannot be installed.

Yes, there are two issues to contend with. The heat which is anticipated above the fixture in the box where the fixture is mounted to where the 90degC is connected to the 60degC rated wire insulat as well as the fact that copper is not only an excellent conductor of electricity but it is also an excellent conductor of heat from the socket to where the 90degC wire is connected to the 60derC wire.
When these fixures are installed incorrectly with 60degC rated wire the 60ddegC rated wire insulation will get brittle crumbling at the slightest touch. If you ever try tho change a fixture where that 60degC wire insulation has deteriorated the ins UK national often times just cracks and falls of as you disconnect the wires leaving bare unisulated wires.
