Nutone bath ceiling heaters can't be installed in the tub space but how close can they be ? 6" ?Thank you.

If nothing is called out specifically in the instructions, .0001" should be fine.

I agree. Does the tub have a shower? If not you may be able to install it over the tub... Not sure but I thought the fans state to not install over a shower.

The fans with integral heaters typically have more restrictive instructions.

I have not installed one in a while so I don't know but I don't remember it being any different.

When I have been shopping lately I find many fan/light combos that are OK above tubs and showers, some requiring GFCI. But none with heaters allowed, even with GFCI.
Possibly a recent UL or risk management change.
