Will tariffs kill solar? No politics, please

For me it's about not paying an electric bill. I'm also not a fan of all the Mercury released into the environment by burning coal. Those are my two big concerns.
Two valid reason! Though does the amount of environmental damage extracting materials for solar vs coal plus the waste of each really equate to a benifit- we won’t know cause every one can manipulate data and numbers to there ideology-

Plus all coal is not the same

Still us buying from chicom we are knowing using slave labor don’t forgot the

Uyghurs

the not paying for electricity- YES the power company are greedy and in times of emergency I want power if you have the right system

Study after study has found solar makes much more energy than they take to produce. I have a hard time believing there is any comparison to the overall environmental effect of coal vs solar. I didn't do numbers, but if you compete the energy produced by a solar panel over say a 25-30 year lifespan, vs just the pile of coal ash and mercury left over if done with coal.

I am certainly not a fan of China . There are many other manufacturers of solar panels come including ones that are made in North America. You can complain about china people for buying stuff from them, but how much stuff do YOU have that was made in China? How come the guy who has a solar system with solar panels made in China gets ragged on but you don't for your Milwaukee tools?

Was not my intention to make you mad.
Never left me out of the equation- I have an china crap also-
When I BUY i try American or some other county- it’s hard though.

My comments were not directed at you.
Just a statement

You seem to know about how bad China is- good for you

my comments were directed towards people who don’t really care were they buy there stuff from.

Your first statement was open-end though. I Never said that solar does not generate more than it produces- coal we don’t need to produce-

like you said I like to know a 30year study showing solar is this much coal is this much- there waist is this much and so forth.

you leave one equation out of that and it’s
Shifted one direction. A unbiased study would be hard to find- follow the money..

But once again was not directing it towards anyone here just a statement.
Was directing it towards customers I have lol

I am not knocking solar either I am trying to sell them in my area and I have them also- though the system was free from a removal…
The fear mongering warming people are why solar gets a bad rap

But the guy that lives off the land away from the powercompany having solar and back up gen with inground propain is my hero..
If that is you I
Envy you I am trapped in the city still

Well you are complaining about people buying solar panels from China, but you yourself buy a bunch of stuff from china, come on man.
I told you why it’s the warming people—- the title of the post “ will tarifs kill solar”
Not will “tarifs kill Milwaukee”
So come on man!
I admitted I am just as guilty and acknowledging it is the first step. It’s like AA
I did not want to offend you most of your post and rebellious to corrupt system so I like that- I’ll stay out this one- apologies for offending!

In my experience, very few people buy solar for environmental reasons. As far as solar sales people, of course they are going to hype it up for one reason or another, anyone in sales in any industry is going to do that, that's what sales is. People just love to pick on solar it's nuts. Love how the auto sales guy selling people is $80,000 ridiculous truck doesn't get picked on 🙄

Now see we must have a different demographic-
I live with hippie not farming hippie, drug hippies-
Got 10 clients that have solar and they have to save the plant-
The solar I have put in for people were not cause they wanted to be self sufficient- they wanted to lower there carbon footprint to save the plant. While there driving an old Volkswagen that get like 10MPG so u hope you see why I get a little jaded

Sales man I hate- but that why they have more money than me I won’t up sale a service if not needed. I don’t like to waist people money—- if it’s any condolence- I hate Real-estate sales man more than solar lol

I started my lighting store cause I wanted to buy American made lights—— well after trying to find that lol that was impossible- have a few but there in the hundreds to thousands of dollar
May be assembled here but all these integrated light the drivers and led are made over in China …So I have to live with that- I don’t like it I hope it changes- seems like India going to take that over but there not any better- they got the untouchable class over there.

Why are you so concerned about these people and their beliefs and choices? People make all sorts of irrational and illogical choices on any number of things. Personally I don't have the timer energy to obsess and worry about other people's choices.

you sound like my wife! I am sure there is thing that annoy you that people do that I just would ignore? This is mine!
I get your point. Your are probably more mature than me !

I admit it is hard not to complain about things sometimes. I complain about the NEC and cmp's a lot...BUT ...that is stuff that affects me and my customers directly.

The US should have a zone with Canada Mexico, and Belize allowing free trade and free movement of labor. Then use a joint 'force' to secure the southern border with Guatemala.

Yes it does. Same for batteries. This is well known and it's disingenuous to suggest otherwise. I mean maybe the moon is made of green cheese, it's hard for an individual to prove it isn't for sure, but you can either take the preponderance of good faith reports about the world seriously or you can forfeit any claim to know much of anything (in which case why bother sharing your idle speculations).

For those of you not aware of the rest of the world, the Spanish grid collapsed i think yesterday. Reported cause is too much reliance on PV led to instability of the grid so it shut it self down to protect its self. Which is of course what it should do. Need a lot of reliable baseline load like coal, oil, gas, nuclear, or hydro if you want to put PV, wind, or other less reliable sources in the mix.

Kind of what NAFTA was touted to be but ended up being something totally different than what was promised.

That's why you cannot rely on political promises for much of anything.
