Connect whatever you want to a Limited Energy cable?

Can the direct burial, limited energy, cable as normally used for low voltage lighting also be used for other low voltage applications? NEC 300.5 column 5 Says we can use 6" of cover with this type cable "..for irrigation control and landscape lighting limited to 30v..". Can I use it to power a pump in a pond, attach a few solar panels on the DC side, or for LED lights in a shed? All these would be less than 30v and within the ampacity of the cable. Thx, -Phil

Why don't you just use UF and be done with it. Many landscape lighting cables can't be used in buildings. Go down 18" and you can always use it for line voltage some day.
