We are hanging light fixtures and some of the guys are strapping the mc to the emt that feeds the lighting circuits. Is there anywhere in the code that says you can't strap mc to emt?

The EMT or raceway is not intended to support other raceways. One might say well 1 MC cable should not be an issue, but where do you stop? What if the NEC allows MC cable and then you strap a 3C 4/0 MC?

MC or fixture whips?

MC or fixture whips?

Are they strapping the fixture whips to the EMT? If so, I don't believe you are even required to support the fixture whips. Wasn't there a discussion on this at one point in time?
