I am working on a project that requires the use of PLTC-ER cable for all instrumentation (i.e. Transmitters). Basically, I have 2-wire 4-20mA transmitters. I plan to use a power supply that is not NEC class 2 to power all the transmitters. I plan to use a Phoenix Contact power supply

Is this acceptable if using PLTC-ER cables? Can I use this power supply or do i need to use a NEC class 2 power supply

Thanks

What size conductors?

That power supply has a 20 amp output I would imagine you will have to provide some sort of overcurrent protection for what I imagine are small conductors.

you probably already have a cable in mind, but omnicable stocks a ton of PLTC-ER cables in many pairs/conductors/sizes (many of which are Belden)
