Here goes.
I have a 150W m/h fixture approx 2 years old not working.This is what I have.

-OCV in socket 290 - within spec according to Advance website.
- New lamp which tests good in similar fixture.
- 10 micro farad cap. Tests 10.3

What's left, nothing else in housing to check.

Thanks.

Some times those sockets don't make good connection. If you de-energize it and remove the socket you can sometimes pry up the center electrode.

Are you sure you have the correct wattage and lamp type? Sometimes a ballast gets changed with the incorrect type and will not match the nameplate of the fixture.

Does it call for a pulse start lamp? Do you have the exact type of lamp as specified by the ballast?

There is a ballast and cap in the housing. Did not see an individual igniter.

Wouldn't the presence of proper OCV in the socket rule out the ballast?

Already raised up center tab in socket.

Thanks

Photocell, replaced ballast/ignitor/cap miswire, wrong tap used on ballast for incoming voltage, different fixture than one your bulb works on?

Had a problem with a fluorescent where I swapped the bulb into a known working fixture, and swapped back. I broke the bulb during the swap - possible here?
