For a cooktop that came with a metal whip for direct wire, I know technically I need to have a means of a disconnect. How are most of them done? An ac disconnect under the cabinet, or a lock on the circuit breaker? Or am I overkilling it?

The cooktops I see have a unit swith(es) that satisfies 422.34 for residential use.

Is this commercial or residential?
