GFCI Receptacle Confusion

I bet is was just a listing thing like when 12 gauge quick wire feature was removed or the GFCI miswire lock out was added.

All of the listed GFCIs manufactured after June 28, 2015 are of the self-testing type.

The UL standard does not require that the GFCI receptacle trip on a failed self test, but some brands do. Other brands only give a audio and/or a visual indication of the failed test.

It appears that all of the GFCI breakers trip on a failed self test, but not 100% sure of that.

Not likely as the only listed GFCIs that will be available will be the self testing type. So there is no need to change the code.

Current stock can be sold, but all of the GFCIs being manufactured now are of the self testing type.

Current non-self testing stock can be sold, but all of the GFCIs being manufactured now are of the self testing type.
