Do hardwired car chargers require disconnect or not?

I am not clear whether a hardwired electrical car charger requires a AC disconnect or not. i.e. a 60A 240V Tesla charger.
I imagine if plugged into NEMA 14-50 i would not. But not sure about hardwired for installation within a garage.

    Welcome to the forum.

Unless the charger is larger than 60 amps then no disconnect is required

625.43 Disconnecting Means. For equipment rated more than
60 amperes or more than 150 volts to ground, the disconnecting
means shall be provided and installed in a readily accessible
location. The disconnecting means shall be lockable open in
    accordance with 110.25.
They say I shot a man named Gray and took his wife to Italy
She inherited a million bucks and when she died it came to me
    I can't help it if I'm lucky
