Quiz of the day from yesterday's inspection.

This is a main panel for a SFR and you are looking at the only neutral/ground bar.

1. What is "SFR"? Is it "single family residence"?
2. What is the black stuff coating part of the large aluminum wire? Is that the "nolox" stuff (or whatever the right term is for the coating you use to protect al wire)?
3. What's with the three twisted conductors under a single screw, and why are they covered with a black insulation material?
4. Is item 3 above what you were really asking about? If so, do I win anything? ;)

You guys are good, I would not expect any less.

Bonding jumper missing on the first photo

Actually those are 14's on the 2nd photo

The white wire is the GEC that you see to the right.
There are 2 different brands of breakers in the box. It is a GE panel.

There are a few more small things too

I do'nt see a Main Bonding Jumper.
If the AIC is the same and the breaker fits you must acquit.

Is the 14's under a 30I breaker a motor load?

Although 14 can be on a 30 and be legal, my bet is it's a resi install, not commercial. And dwellings generally don't have 30a 120v motor loads.

Yes you're right Sparky. I also do'nt see many "Plug-In breakers"
in a Comm/Industrial install. I have seen 120v 30 I circ pumps
in a resi Koi pond though.
