With this latest 200.2 article, do I need to run a grounded wire to a sub-panel, if the load voltage is 240V and doesn't need a grounded conductor? If I am correct, before 2011 code did I have to run a grounded wire in the same situation? Thanks for any reply.

You are not required to run a grounded conductor to a sub panel if there is no need for it. I have done this for panels which were specifically for heating and A/C. No neutral required. 250.24(C) may require a neutral but that is to the service
